Training . . .Our advice on training is "the sooner you start, the better". You need not be a world-class athlete or an avid cyclist to participate in our event. This is not to say that it isn't physically demanding, because it is. However, with some training and encouragement, many of our past riders were able to surpass their expectations. The Trek is not a race; many of the memories you will have after the event occur during the days as you ride through small towns and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You will have the chance to get to know other people on the event with you, and exchange encouraging words for the parts of the route that are tough. You may have your own training regimen or have a friend who's willing to share some advice. If not, we've prepared a training guide to get you started on your training for the event. This guide is to be used as an outline only, and you need to adjust your training plan based on your physical capabilities and available time. The Trek has been completed by 17 year-olds, 67 year-olds and everything in between. The important part is for you to try and put in as many miles as you can, and we're sure that you will surpass your expectations as well. Click here to download our Training Guide. |
